How To Get Vicks Vapor Rub Out Of Hair

My blog’s name is Naptime Review. So that means I write about what happens during nap time. Well, this is what happened the other day; my girls had an extra long nap which meant Mommy had extra long time to blog. I love those afternoons… When my oldest daughter woke up her hair looked wet. I just figured she sweat during her nap. Didn’t think much of it. We decided to have dinner at the pool and enjoy the summer weather. As I was combing her hair, I was noticing the sleek stickiness to it. I asked her what she put on it, she answered, “Nothing Mommy.” I bent down and smelled it and it smelt like eucalyptus. “Averie, did you put medicine on your hair during nap time?”  “Yep”, she said with a mischievous grin. She had got into Baby Vicks Vapor Rub and decided to style her hair. That was two days ago and the child has swam in the pool and has taken two baths. That stuff is in her hair for good! I just googled it and apparently this is a common problem. Who would’ve thought that? So before we go to church today, I will be using paper towels, degreasing dishwashing liquid and warm water. Let’s see if that works!

So now you know what goes on during nap time. Never a dull moment! I guess it could’ve been worse. She could have found the scissors!
Look at my little grease monkey!

  17. I laughed so hard when I read this. I can remember when my son Danny decided he should shave his legs when he was 2 1/2, because mommy shaved. Not a good outcome, but not horrible. He cut himself a little, but he didn’t do that again.

Or the other time, when my kids were supposed to be napping and my boys cut my daughters bangs. Not a pretty site.

Naptimes are normally great, but when they go wrong, they can really go wrong.

  18. Hilarious. Hopefully that greasy stuff will come out!!

  19. I was rolling when I read this…my oldest did something similar, but his method of choice was bag balm (used for diaper rashes…kinda like vaseline). It took me for-e-ver to get it out of his hair!
