How To Catch A Leprechaun

leprechan munch 007

One of my favorite writing lessons as a first grade teacher was writing how to catch a leprechaun. I loved to hear how the first graders would catch those little guys. Since, I am not in the classroom anymore, I thought the girls and I would make some leprechaun munch and try to catch our very own leprechaun. We had lots of fun making, eating, and brainstorming how to catch those tiny creatures.

Here is the “secret” recipe to catch a leprechaun:

After we made our Leprechaun Munch, we went on a leprechaun hunt around the house.  We did more munching than exploring, of course!

Since we were having no luck seeing a leprecuaun, we decided to spoon some delicious munch out and leave it in the dinning room. A little later, Averie checked the munch and look what the leprechaun left in exchange for his tasty snack!

Her face was priceless. Averie was in shock to see her gold coins. It was a lot of fun! She now wants to be a leprechaun when she grows up. I tried to explain that it can’t happen, then I just let it go. I only a few more years of tricking and being playful with my girls.

Do leprechauns visit your house?

Do they leave treats or make messes?

  1. That looks super yummy! Did you pick the marshmallows out of the cereal or can you buy them separately somewhere?

Also, love that your little one wants to be a leprechaun now. I think that means your activity was a success.

    • We sorted them from the cereal box. Averie really enjoyed that! We only came up with about 1/2 cup. I bought Target brand though. I saw the actual Lucky Charm had extra green marshmallows this month. So you might be able to score some more. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out!

  2. That is one cute (and sweet) hunt. And even if you can’t catch a leprechaun for sure you can catch a little munchkin :) I bet little ones enjoyed the game big time.

    Hugs

    • Aw that would be cute! We had left over coins too, that is how the leprechaun paid for his snack. I would love to see your sons trap!

  24. The kangaroo facet of the gold coin is surrounded by stylized,
inward sun rayys and carries tthe inscription: AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO one TONNE 9999 GOLD, along
with the year of minting, 2012. Before makinng a deal, find out whether the coin carries good value till today.

High frequency trading or perhaps even every once in awhile often called
“microtrading” serves up liquidity around, much longer than that the fanatics tell him.
